ROCHESTER - Rochester Police are investigating a bomb scare at the Rochester Taco Bell on Monday night.

The incident began around 8:44 p.m. when a caller with a "restricted" caller ID phoned the North Main Street eatery and stated there was a "bomb in the building," according to police dispatch notes.

The caller, who was said to have an accent, then hung up.

Rochester Police called in a State Police bomb-sniffing K9 who cleared the building.

Rochester Police Capt. Todd Pinkham said today that six employees were evacuated from the building until the all clear was given.

He said no further information was available as the probe continues.

Calling in a bomb scare is a Class B felony punishable by three and a half to seven years in jail.
