Teen charged in Sanford school bomb threat

SANFORD - A 13-year-old boy was charged on Thursday in a bomb threat incident at Sanford Junior High School.

The school initially shut down around 8:30 a.m. after the threat was found scribbled on a men's bathroom wall within the school.

Sanford Police were notified and the school was immediately evacuated.

A search of the building was conducted turning up no evidence of a bomb, and students were allowed to return to classes.

The juvenile, who is not being named due to his age, was charged with terrorizing, a Class C offense punishable by incarceration.
