ROCHESTER - Police seized about 20 grams of heroin during a drug arrest Tuesday evening on Signal Street.

Officers were first called for a suspicious vehicle parked in front of Signal Street Variety around 5 p.m. in which drug use was suspected.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with a female driver and male passenger who was recognized by an officer as having an active parole violation warrant issued by the State Board of Parole in October.

At that point Tino Marino, 39, a transient, was arrested. A subsequent search revealed he had about 20 grams of heroin worth about $900 on him along with cash.

In addition to the parole violation charge, Marino was charged with felony drug possession and possession with intent to distribute.

Marino refused bail and is scheduled for arraignment today at Strafford County Superior Court.

The female driver, Valerie J. Trunfio, 42, of 6 Furbush St., Rochester, was charged with a violation level driving after suspension. She will be arraigned next month at Rochester District Court.
