ROCHESTER - Two local men have been arrested on heroin trafficking charges after they were picked up by Rochester Police and members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force on Wednesday.

Arrested were Craig Wiggin, 37, a transient; and Ernest Nason, 34, of 25 Maple St., Farmington.

The men were taken into custody around 1 p.m. at 12 Colby St. after police say officers witnessed Wiggin throw bags of drugs into a puddle in an attempt to conceal them. Also found in Wiggin's possession were plastic baggies and a digital scale. He was also currently in violation of his supervision agreement with Strafford County Community Corrections.

Wiggin was charged with felony possession with intent to distribute heroin and felony falsifying physical evidence.

Nason was also charged with felony possession with intent to distribute heroin. Police found him in the company of Wiggin, adding Nason also had a warrant for his arrest for failing to pay child support. When officers took Nason into custody he was found with a large amount of heroin.

Both men refused bail and were transported to Strafford County Jail pending their arraignment in Dover Superior Court.
