Two injured, driver cited in Farmington Road collision

ROCHESTER - Two Rochester drivers were injured and one was cited on Friday after an early morning crash on the Route 16 overpass on Farmington Road.

The collision occurred around 6 a.m. when a 2011 Toyota Tacoma being operated westbound by William Poirier, 27, crashed into a 2006 Nissan Frontier being operated by Kerry Tuttle, 57. According to police, Tuttle had just exited Route 16 southbound at exit 15 going toward Farmington Road, and when they turned left at the top of the off ramp onto Farmington Road, was struck by Poirier's vehicle in the intersection.

Both were transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital for nonlife-threatening injuries.

Poirier was charged with Failure to Obey Traffic Control Devices.

The accident closed a small portion of Farmington Road for about 30 minutes, and both vehicles were towed from the scene due to extensive damage.
