Two seriously injured in nighttime motorcycle crash on Spaulding Connector

ROCHESTER - A motorcyclist and their passenger sustained serious injuries in a crash on the Spaulding Turnpike Connector Saturday night.
The accident occurred around 8:30 p.m. near the northbound exit 16 off-ramp from Route 16.
The motorcycle, a 2016 Harley-Davidson, was traveling westbound on the connector when it crossed the centerline and went off the roadway on the eastbound side, according to a statement from New Hampshire State Police. The operator of the motorcycle sustained life-threatening injuries was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital. Their passenger was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
Both of their identities are being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Neither the motorcycle operator nor passenger were wearing helmets, police say.
Both eastbound and westbound traffic on the connector had to be shut down for about two hours while the crash scene was investigated.
All aspects of this crash remain under investigation by New Hampshire State Police and no charges have been filed at this time.
