ROCHESTER - Good beer, good food, good music and ugly sweaters.

Seems like the makings of a good time, mused Bob Trott, who was enjoying free chicken wings and deep fried catfish at the Lilac City Grill on Saturday.

"People are having so much damn fun," he grinned, sporting a 3-D sweater depicting what looked like a crazed ram with jack-o-lantern teeth and horns that protruded out from his ugly sweater choice.

The Lilac City Grill was one of six restaurants participating in the city's 4^th Annual Ugly Sweater Pub Tour on Saturday, and all of them had healthy, boisterous crowds bent on celebrating the holiday season with their crews drinking a few brews.

Over at Mitchell Hill BBQ and Brew Pete Peterson was playing his own style of blues and bluegrass for an appreciative crowd that was treated to free bowls of Brunswick stew as part of the event.

Pub tour attendees paid $20 for a bracelet that entitled them to free food, discounted prices on Boston Beer Co. beverages and a chance to put their ugliest sweater to the test.

Other participating restaurants included RPAC at the Governor's Inn, Moes, Porter's Pub, where they gave away barbecue pork sliders; and the Revolution, which offered slices of their brick-oven pizza.

Some of the venues had live music including Mitchell Hill and Lilac City Grille, where "Mica's Groove Train" had revelers' toes tapping.

The event was presented by Sam Adams.
