ROCHESTER - Unite Francaise and Rochester Police recently teamed up to help a young girl and her family beat cancer.

Three-year-old Skye Plaisted was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in April.

After reading about Cops for Kids with Cancer teaming up with Rochester Police to help the Plaisteds, Unite Francaise, a French club based in Rochester, asked to team up with the police to give the family an added boost.

Club members and Police recently met with the Plaisted family at the Revolution Taproom and Grill in Rochester where they presented the Plaisted family with a donation to help them during the holiday season.

In addition to partnering with local charities to help children in need, the goals of the club are to help those interested in the French language to have a place where they can speak French as well as practice and improve their French. The club also has a scholarship program for those students who are studying French and plan to continue their education.
