Update: Female motorist who died in Sanford crash identified
Staff reports Update Thursday 5:54 a.m. SANFORD - The woman who died in a crash on Sam Allen Road has been identified as 58-year-old Karen Cavanaugh of Wells. Cavanaugh died late Tuesday afternoon around 5:30 p.m. in the area of 81 Sam Allen Road. Upon arrival officers determined a 2014 Nissan Juke, occupied by only the operator, had left the roadway and struck a tree. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. The Sam Allen Road connects Horace Mills Road and Main Street.
