Maine DEA agents have caught up with a fugitive in a Maine meth lab case and advise that the children he had with him are all safe and with relatives.
John Regan, 41, of Wells and Concord, N.H., was arrested late Tuesday as a fugitive from justice in Concord, N.H., where extradition proceedings to bring him back to Maine are already under way. He faces charges of unlawful operation of a meth lab at his Wells home.
Jennifer Boudle, 28, of Wells, who lives with Regan, was charged Monday with the same charge following a search of their home on Nov. 16.
The couple and three children all lived on a camper on property at 859 Post Road in Wells.
Boudle was taken into custody by drug agents and Wells Police after a vehicle she was a passenger in was stopped in Wells. Boudle was taken to the police department and freed on $500 bail.
Police and MDEA agents raided the camper on Nov. 16 on suspicion a meth lab was in operation. Agents found Boudle and Regan at the camper along with their three small children, ages infant to 10 years old. The camper was seized but lawmen allowed the family to leave as they prepared paperwork to search the camper.
The search yielded a significant amount of evidence related to the manufacturing of methamphetamine, and on Dec. 23 arrest warrants were issued for the couple.
The whereabouts of Regan and the three children had been unknown prompting police to put out a bulletin that there was a warrant for his arrest.
