LEBANON - Nine motorists were injured, one seriously, after an SUV and a pickup truck collided head-on the area of Route 202 and Stokewood Drive around 6 p.m. Christmas night.

After he was extricated, he had to be treated for pain before being rushed to Skydive New England where he was Medflighted to Maine Medical Center. Both of the most seriously injured victims in the SUV were said to be middle-aged.

No other ages or any hometowns were available.

When responders first arrived one car was on fire, which was quickly extinguished, according to Lebanon Rescue Deputy Chief Kevin Romano.

The other victims were transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital, Biddeford Medical Center and Southern Maine Medical Center in Sanford.

Three refused patient transport.
