ROCHESTER - Verne A. Martin died after suffering from a long illness on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at the age of 85. He was born in Parsonsfield, Maine, on April 13, 1936. Verne was the son of Mildred and William Martin and brother to the late Kenneth and Wilfred Martin. Verne was the last of his generation.
Verne is the father of Brenda Fuller (Dave), Richard Martin and Robert Martin (Lyn). He is also the grandfather of seven: Kym, Scott, Justin, Corrina, Karl, Janet and Brianna and several great grandchildren.
Verne proudly served in the Navy and enjoyed fishing and hunting with family and friends. He loved animals and they loved him. We would often call him The Pied Piper. In the end, he spoke of going to the mountain and would point to the sky. Verne is now at peace and has reached his mountain.
