ROCHESTER - A special Veterans Corner inside the Exhibition Hall has won the Ambassador's Choice Award for this year's Granite State Fair.
The display comprises several handmade quilts fashioned by Wraps of Love, a local quilting group led by Deb Morrow of Lebanon, Maine.
The group routinely volunteers their time and skill in to creating gorgeous handmade quilts for veterans.
Annette Plaisted of Gonic, who has been the Exhibition Hall's crafts section supervisor for 23 years, said she was delighted with the choice.
Plaisted said the people who put their works of art in to be displayed, "put their heart and soul into making them."
Along with her assistant, Karen Cameron, the two set up their gallery like a museum, showing off pottery, quilts and woodwork items to best present these locally made treasures.
