ROCHESTER - Spaulding High School's anti-drug programs just got a financial boost with last week's donation of a $1,000 grant from the Rochester Walmart.

The money will be used by the school's Master Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Nicole Dale, to implement evidence based programming that is designed to boost protective factors and eliminate or reduce risk factors for drug use. This program also works to support those youth who are impacted by a loved one's addiction.

A recent study notes one in five children nationwide live in homes with someone who is addicted, and those who grow up in homes with substance abuse are more likely to begin misusing drugs and alcohol, themselves, which leads to multigenerational cycles of addiction.
