ROCHESTER - A second suspect has been named in last month’s robbery of the Milton Road Shell gas station.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Brandon Hamel, 18, who formerly resided in East Rochester.

Police arrested the other suspect, Jonathan Wilson, 21, of 288 Blackwater Road, Gonic on Saturday. He is in jail on high bail and is also facing charges in the brutal beating of a Somersworth, N.H., pizza delivery driver.

The two men are charged with the June 25 armed robbery of the store during the afternoon commute as several shoppers were inside the store.

During the robbery Wilson is alleged to have used a long-barreled handgun, while Hamel toted a sawed-off shotgun.

The brazen daytime robbery began a spate of armed robberies at the store including one over the 4th of July weekend and another early Monday.

The suspects in the two most recent robberies are also still at large, though leads are being developed, Rochester Police Capt. Gary Boudreau said on Monday.
