WATERBORO - A Waterboro man died on Friday when he opened a trailer full of excavation debris that spilled out crushing him.

YCSO sheriff's deputies and rescue personnel responded around 11:15 a.m. to G and F Septic at 62 Sokokis Trail in East Waterboro for a report of an industrial accident.

Upon arrival, rescue workers found David Egan, 49, of Waterboro, was killed when he opened a trailer containing excavation debris. The debris contained large tree trunks and other large objects that came out, crushing him. It appears he died shortly after the accident and was declared dead at the scene.
