CONCORD - DHHS announced 58 new positive test results for COVID-19 on Saturday, including four under the age of 18.
Sixteen of the new cases are from Strafford County, thought to largely due to returning UNH students being tested before returning for the fall semester.
According to DHHS numbers as of Friday, there are currently 31 active virus cases being monitored among UNH students. DHHS data also shows that UNH has seen 16 infections among students who have since recovered.
No other school in the Granite State has reported any cases.
The 16 new cases identified in Strafford County represent the largest number in any city or county statewide.
One new hospitalized case was identified for a current total of nine.
Even with COVID cases on the rise at UNH, statewide, the figures continue to stay positive, with hospitalizations at nine cut by more than 50 percent from a month ago when they were 21.
The number of current cases in New Hampshire has also dropped drastically in the past month, from 382 to 250, while persons being monitored are also down almost 50 percent, from 2,950 on Aug. 6 to 1,625 today.
