William 'Billy' Brown ... played semi-pro football

William " Billy" Brown, 68, of Dover died on January 23 after bravely battling cancer. He died peacefully at daughter's home surrounded by his family and friends.

Billy was born in Rochester on May 12, 1951 to Claire (Allicon) Brown and Walter Brown,Sr.

In the past 10 years Billy was faced with many health obstacles but never gave up hope, his desire to fight or his love of life. Throughout all of his battles Billy always looked on the bright side.

Despite his failing health, he continued to enjoy life and shared his positive attitude and
generous heart with whomever he encountered. He enjoyed sitting on his porch, conversing
with his neighbors, trips to the lake, and visiting with family and friends.
Bill grew up in Rochester, attended Spaulding High School and the University of New Hampshire. Billy was a sports fanatic, especially regarding football. He played football throughout high school, freshman year in college and semi-pro for the Tri City Chargers. He shared his love of sports by coaching youth sports for years, touching the lives of many young athletes.

For many years Billy worked with his brothers in the family business, Brown and Horsch Insulation Company. He left the family business to pursue his Master Plumber License. He was passionate about his pipe fitting and enjoyed the challenge of piping complex, industrial mechanical systems.

Billy is survived by his three daughters, Katie Brown, Summer Brown, Beth Brown and her husband Jeff Wheaton, and their mother, Robin Chasse Brown, former spouse and life long friend. His 5 grandchildren; Molly, Fiona, Gannon, Ben and Jack. His loving siblings, Butch and Jan Brown of Wakefield, NH, Linda and Greg Hoey of Gonic, NH, Joanne and Vern Merrihew of New Durham, NH, and his sister- in - law Valerie Brown of Rochester, NH and many nieces and nephews he loved very much.Bill was predeceased by his younger brother Ricky Brown and his loving partner of many years,Renee Dupuis.
