ROCHESTER - William R. Morton, 84, formerly of Cass Street in Portsmouth, N.H., died Sunday, September 18, 2016, at the Colonial Hill Nursing Facility after a long illness. Born November 12, 1931, in Biddeford, Maine, he was the son of William and Yvette (Larose) Morton.
William grew up in Rye and spent most of his years living in Portsmouth where he graduated from Portsmouth High School, he has lived in Rochester for the past three years in the long term care unit at Colonial hill. He was employed at Public Service of NH for 36 years as an engineer at the Schillar Station in Newington. He enjoyed Hunting, fishing being a part time lobsterman and telling stories. He was also a member of the National rifle Association.
Members of his family include his Sons; John and Matthew Morton both of Rye, N.H., his daughters; Marcia M. Lyon of Rye, N.H., Sharon Morton and her husband Luis Guijarro of Portsmouth, Donna White and her husband Will of Strafford, N.H., a sister, Priscilla M. Cilley of Venice, Fla., his 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and a very special loyal friend Pete Bland of Eliot, Maine. He was predeceased by a brother Phillip Morton.
