ROCHESTER - If the city's Zoning Board of Appeals approves his application tonight, Gary Roy will be bringing his Chick-fil-A food truck to the Lilac Mall every Wednesday beginning on June 2.

Roy said he enjoyed a successful run at The Ridge last fall, but now he wants to set up in the Lilac Mall parking lot that formerly held a state liquor store and is empty except for Great Bay Community College.

He said the service will be takeout only.

Currently his truck makes weekly visits to Portsmouth, Tilton, Kittery, Maine, and Leominster, Mass.

He said he'll have a full menu, but there will be no outdoor dining offered.

Roy said he needs to go before the ZBA, because the commercial space is inside the Highway Commercial zone.

If all goes well he said he'd be coming to Rochester every Wednesday through November, maybe even longer depending on the demand.

The truck's top seller is the Chick-fil-A sandwich, he said.

Salads and fries are all gluten free.
