Woman charged with arson in Hill apartment house fire

A woman has been arrested on arson charges in connection with a fire at a Hill apartment house in November.

The fire occurred on Nov. 22 at 4 Commerce Street.

At the time of the fire, four people were inside their apartments and were able to self-evacuate without incident, according to a Dept. of Safety press release sent out Monday.
Police arrested Kathy Canfield, 60, on Friday on a New Hampshire Fire Marshal's Office arrest warrant. She was charged with felony arson and misdemeanor breach of bail conditions and is being held at the Merrimack County House of Corrections on no bail pending her arraignment.
