Woman from missing persons case arrested on heroin charge

Jennifer Santos

DOVER - The missing Dover woman who was found safe in Rochester was arrested by police Monday night on heroin charges from an incident in Newmarket, N.H., in July 2014.

Jennifer Santos was taken into custody at a gas station in Rochester where she had agreed to meet police.

Santos had contacted Rochester police earlier Monday when she realized she was the object of a missing persons case after seeing reports in local media.

On Tuesday Santos was remanded into custody of Newmarket Police and later released on $2,500 personal recognizance for the heroin possession charge.

Santos was originally reported missing by her mother on Christmas morning after she failed to show up for holiday events with family and friends.

Dover Police issued a statement on Monday indicating that Santos was wanted on the heroin charge and that she had a habit of taking off for a few days at a time without telling anyone.
