Words of advice for troubled times: eat, love, pray and walk

ROCHESTER - Mary Goodall and Paul Perkins of Rochester said while obeying the governor's stay at home has kept them in close quarters for several weeks, they have still managed to get along with each other just fine.

"We never fight," Goodall grinned. "If we do we make up quick."

The couple took advantage of clear skies on Saturday to do some shopping at Rite-Aid at the corner of Wakefield Street and Chestnut Hill Road.

While walking on their way back home they told me they spend a lot of time watching TV and praying.
"I pray all the time," Goodall said.

Goodall, who will soon turn 80, said she and Perkins walk every single day as long as it's not raining.

She didn't have much to say about the pandemic that has her housebound.

"I don't like it," she quipped.

We asked what she misses the most and is looking forward to doing again when this is all over.

Without a moment's thought she laughed, "BINGO!"
