ROCHESTER - Robert E. Skipper III, "Skippy", of Rochester, passed away, at Mass. General Hospital on Monday, April 28, 2014, due to aggressive, undiagnosed cancer. He was born in Portsmouth and raised in Dover, to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Elwood and Marylou Cabana. Skippy worked as a commercial floor installer for many, many years. Playing the drums was his passion and he was a member of several local bands over the decades. During his time in MGH he remarked to the nurses, while in ICU, that he needed to get out of the hospital as he planned to play for the upcoming RELAY FOR LIFE cancer benefit in June at Spaulding High in Rochester. He always thought so much of others. Change of plans - but we'll still be there….

Skippy was loved by everyone that knew him and will be sadly missed.

He was predeceased by his father Robert E. Skipper Jr. (1935-2014), his Son Robert E. Skipper IV (1993-2008), and a brother David A.(1962-2003).

"Skippy" leaves behind his Mother, Marylou Skipper of Dover, only sister Darlene Skipper-Olsen and her husband Charlie of Barrington, brother Michael of Dover, brother Steven, his wife Dawn, and their 2 children of Barrington. Loved stepson David Taylor of Rochester. Aunts, uncles & cousins near & far, and cherished friendships, many through many decades! You know who you are.
