2 locals charged in death of city man who fell from parking garage following barfight

BRENTWOOD - Two area men have been indicted in the death of a Rochester man who fell to his death from a Portsmouth parking garage after being chased by a mob outside a nightclub in August.
Vincent Panetta, 24, of Barrington, and Andrew Lucas, 24, of Farmington have both been formally charged with felony negligent homicide, accomplice to negligent homicide, second degree assault and accomplice to second degree assault in the death of Zachary Colbroth, 28, of Rochester. The four felonies could result in up to 28 years in state prison if convicted.
Panetta and Lucas have also been charged with several misdemeanors including criminal threatening and reckless conduct.
A police investigation revealed that Colbroth got into a confrontation with several individuals inside the Gas Light Co. that spilled out onto the street near the High-Hanover parking garage around 1 a.m. on Aug. 26.
Police say after Colbroth fled into the parking garage at least one of his assailants followed him. When he tried to climb onto the rail at the edge of the garage he fell onto a Hanover Street sidewalk, according to police. He later succumbed to his injuries at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
Police have singled out Panetta and Lucas as the two who assaulted Colbroth near the garage entrance that led to him seeking an escape into the garage.
Both suspects will be arraigned in Rockingham Superior Court on Dec. 15.
