After earlier hot stretch weekend heat wave will be a walk in the park

The weekend heat wave expected to last through Sunday will feature temps above 90 each day, but after what the region went through earlier this month, most folks will likely take this one in stride.
The heat indexes beginning today through Sunday will be 94, 97 and 95, respectively, with overnight lows in the mid-60, 10 degrees lower than the lows that occurred during the prolonged hot spell in July and early August.
During this latest heat wave, the biggest chance for rain won't be until Sunday, and that will just rise to a 5 percent likelihood.
Monday and Tuesday's temps will be in the high 70s with a chance of showers or thunderstorms, with the rest of week trending dryer with temps in the mid-80s.
No drenching rains are predicted through the end of the month in a summer that has seen a dearth of rain and a worsening drought.
