ROCHESTER - Alan R. Dame, 69, a lifelong resident of Rochester, died peacefully on August 4, 2022, after a long period of failing health.

Alan was born March 25, 1953, to Richard and Jean (Gowen) Dame. He graduated from Spaulding High School in 1971 and went on to Daniel Webster College in Nashua. While earning an AS in Business, he met and, shortly thereafter, married his wife of 48 years, Faith.

He worked his entire 40-year career as a Sales Representative for Nabisco, during which he and Faith enjoyed many group trips and outings with colleagues and friends. During his time in the stores Alan developed a reputation for hard work and kindness with everyone he crossed paths with.

Alan often reminisced about his trip to the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico as a teenager and later climbing Mt. Washington to ski Tuckerman Ravine with his lifelong friend, Alan Friend.

He was proudest of raising his three children, with Faith, to represent the values he lived his life by, which include being honest, being respectful, and working hard. For those that knew him, Alan's ability to maintain a positive attitude despite what life threw at him will remain an inspiration as we remember him.

Throughout his life, Alan loved spending time with family and friends on hunting trips to East Moxie, Maine, camping, and skiing throughout New England, and helping coach his boys on Shop N Save Little League teams back in the 1980s. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren. In 2021 he and his daughter, Kerri, brought smiles to every face and tears to every eye when he walked her down the aisle in Jackson.

Alan is predeceased by his parents, and his brother, Gary Dame. Alan leaves behind the love of his life, Faith (York) Dame, along with two sons, a daughter, and their spouses; Josh and Laurie Dame of Milton, Aaron and Sheri Dame of Brookfield, and Kerri and Andy Dodge of Rochester; six adoring grandchildren, Olivia, Rachel, Nicholas, Kaylei, Caleb, and Janna; his brother Brian and wife Deborah (Sanders) Dame of Monroe; his sister-in-law Therese (Cormier) Dame of Manchester. Alan is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and cousins that brought tremendous joy and pride to his life.
