ROCHESTER: Albert Alfred "Titbert" Lachance, 77, died peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017.
Best known as a devoted husband, father and family man, he is survived by his beloved wife Patty, children Beatrice, Douglas, Debra and Jodi, his sister Rachel, brother Gilbert and maternal aunts Lucille and Doris, as well as eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren and countless cousins and friends.
An avid athlete, sportsman and naturalist, Al was a stand-out athlete in high school. Locals will always remember him wearing number 17 and one half of the "touch down twins" on the championship 1957 Spaulding football team. He loved participating in all sports, hunting, fishing and gardening. He coached many youth teams in Rochester and later in life could be seen watching his grandchildren as Patty cheered and rang her cow bell.
He was an active member of the Rochester Elks, Knights of Columbus, Spaulding/Rochester Alumni Association, and volunteered at Gerry's Food Pantry and Roger Allen Park. He loved golfing and danced a mean jitterbug.
He was proud to serve his country as a civilian pipefitter for 32 years at the Portsmouth Naval shipyard.
