Alcohol not ruled out as factor in Milton crash

MILTON - More details emerged today regarding a serious weekend accident on Route 75 in Milton.

Rumors were rampant earlier this week that two vehicles were involved, but Milton Police Chief Richard Krauss confirmed this morning that there was only one.

According to Krauss, the vehicle was headed toward Farmington when the car went off the road and into trees around 3 p.m. in the area of 361 Farmington Road, which is also Route 75.

The passenger in the vehicle, a 32-year-old Milton man, was airlifted by DHART helicopter with serious but what were not considered life-threatening injuries.

The driver, 33, and also from Milton, was transported as a precaution to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with what were described as minor injuries, Krauss added.

Neither drugs nor alcohol have been ruled out as causing the accident, Krauss said, adding that the investigation continues with toxicology reports expected back before any possible charges are contemplated.

The Strafford County TAR (Technical Accident Reconstruction) team assisted at the scene.
