ALFRED, Maine - Motorists are being urged this morning to avoid Jordan Springs Road in Alfred near the York County Sheriff's Office's entrance due to a crash that has closed the roadway.
According to a statement from the York County Sheriff's Office, the collision involved a plow truck and a smaller vehicle, which struck a utility pole causing it to break and spew power lines across the road.
Active power lines are currently laying across the road, and the road is expected to remain closed for several hours while Central Maine Power workers attempt to resets the pole.
Police urge the public to find alternate routes.
