ROCHESTER - Police say a local man robbed the South Main Street Dunkin' Donuts Tuesday night, but an officer in the area saw him running toward downtown and apprehended him before he got too far.
Eric Schoellkopf, 24, of Springfield Court, Rochester, was charged with one count of robbery, a class B felony.
Police responded to the 111 South Main St. store a little after 10 p.m. after an employee reported a man passed a demand note to the cashier before running from the store.
No weapon was shown and nobody was hurt.
The officer "noticed a male running from the area toward town," police said, adding the man was stopped for questioning and soon arrested.
Schoellkopf was held on $10,000 bail pending an arraignment today.
