It’s not Easter quite yet but yesterday’s snow was as fluffy as a bunny, easy to shovel or even brush with a broom, a far cry from the heavy, wet accumulation that whacked us over the weekend.

Close to a foot of the fluffy white stuff came down on Tuesday throughout the day, making roads more and more treacherous as the afternoon wore on. However, for the third consecutive significant storm in a row, no serious accidents were reported in either Lebanon, Milton or Rochester.

Central Maine Power early this morning reported no outages statewide.

Meanwhile, hundreds of flights were canceled or delayed across the Northeast.

With a warming trend and rain expected at the end of this week many roofs may be susceptible to collapse. Most gable roofs can sustain a significant amount of snow and allow the water to settle toward the edges. However, a buildup of ice in the gutters can force water beneath the shingles along the edges.

Storm drains could also clog and cause flooding with the mild temperatures and precipitation.

Temperatures on Thursday through Saturday are expected to be in the mid- to high 40s, with periods of rain predicted for Friday.
