ROCHESTER - Anthony Martel Schroeder, nick-named by his family "Marty," also known as "Tony" to most of his friends, died at the age of 72 on Oct. 22, 2022.

He was born to Antonetta Marie (Ferranti) Schroeder and Anthony Leon Schroeder in Denver, Colo., on April 9, 1950. Tony was a resident at the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton, as of August 2020.

Prior to, he lived in Rochester. Tony attended Providence College and served 20 years in the New Hampshire Army National Guard as a Light Wheel Vehicle Mechanic. He enlisted in August 1984 and retired in August of 2004. Tony enjoyed sharing stories of his travel abroad in Europe during his younger days. He also often spoke of the love of his life, his dog named "Chubby". Tony was very knowledgeable about history and knew many Bible verses like the back of his hand. He enjoyed reading National Geographic magazine, listening to the Opera, and watching Disney movies in his spare time. The next "meal" was always on his mind. Anyone who knew him, knew he loved to eat! Tony served as the Chaplain while residing at the Veterans Home. He was a member of the Salmon Falls Church of Christ while living in Rochester, where he would often give the closing prayer during Sunday service.

He will be greatly missed. Tony is survived by his five brothers, Gregory J. Schroeder, John C. Schroeder, Bryan A. Schroeder, James B. Schroeder, and Mark J. Schroeder.
