SANBORNVILLE - The Fifth Annual ARFF Walk - Animals Raising Funds for Food - will be held Rain or Shine, Sept. 3 at 10:30 a.m. at Turntable Park on Meadow Street in downtown Wakefield.

All funds donated will benefit the Wakefield Food Pantry. Every $1 donated to the Food Pantry will provide 2.7 meals to eligible recipients of the Pantry, so this Walk has the potential for being a significant source of funding. Each pet walking can be sponsored by friends or family of the pet owner. The event is organized by the Wakefield Food Pantry with the assistance of the Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist in Sanbornville.

The walk will start at Turntable Park and will proceed to the Poor People's Pub and back. Walkers without pets are welcome to walk as well. The last three ARFF walks (2013-2015) raised $14,020, which at our current average cost per meal of .37 equates to 37,892 meals, serving the ever increasing number of families that need assistance with food during these difficult economic times.

Pet owners can obtain sponsors for the walk. Pledged $$$ donations may be turned in by walkers on the day of the walk or may be sent to the Wakefield Food Pantry, PO Box 426, Wakefield, NH 03872. For more information or to obtain a Sponsor Sheet please send an email to Beth Hayes at beth_hayes@brewsteracademy.com or call her at (603) 387-2283.

Sponsor sheets are also available at the Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist at 118 High Street in Sanbornville.
