When I was working at the Quincy, Mass., Dairy Queen across from the Fore River Shipyard in the late 1960s making a buck and a quarter an hour I distinctly remember to this day just how affordable life was back then.
And I’m sure everyone who grew up in the 1960s, 70s, 80s and 90s all recall the same pleasant memories of how easy it was to get a great-paying job, find a reasonably-priced apartment or a starter home and live the American dream.
I mean back then life was so idyllic, it was like Shangri-La.
I’ve been talking to all my old school chums lately, and we’re all in agreement that life was soooooo easy back then, and that now, in 2026, three months ahead of the midterm elections, people just can’t survive; they’re dying away from malnutrition, they’ve lost all hope, they’re desperate for a remedy, relief from the cruel vagaries of capitaism. You see the desperation everywhere, it’s horrific.
Well, actually not. This is just a fantasy brought forward by any good little commie, who will promise free day care, health care, food, housing, whatever it takes, to get you to vote for them.
It used to be a chicken in every pot. My, how things have changed. Now they want it all!
Communism, in its purest form, is take what you need and give what you can, and in a perfect world, it might work.
But this is not a perfect world and men are not perfect.
So a communist state will always devolve into an authoritative, hard-fisted, ruthless autocracy that relegates all except those in power to a lifetime of servitude and suffering.
And if you cry foul, they’ll send you to re-education camp or the gulag.
But this election cycle, the commie sirens are softly singing, and uneducated, indoctrinated youth who are being cultivated to hate America, capitalism and personal responsibility are proving easy fodder for those who want to change America for the better, they say, by
getting rid of the presidency
getting rid of the Senate
packing the Supreme Court
opening up our borders to anyone
getting rid of ICE
ending deportations of illegal aliens
getting rid of prisons
defunding the police
extending full voting rights to illegal aliens and felons
government control over major industries
free medicare for all
Back in 2020 a couple of days before the November election The Rochester Voice interviewed a half dozen people down at the Rochester Common to see if they were going to vote. We were shocked when nary a one said they were.
In a recent primary three Commie Mamdani candidates won their New York primary with just 17 percent of voters participating.
For the majority of citizens who think politicians are lying, phony creatures who don’t deserve their vote, well, I would just say it might behoove you to pay attention this elections cycle and vote your conscience in November.
It used to be that you skip the midterm vote and maybe your taxes go up or some new laws you don’t like get passed.
Now you skip the midterm and you wake up and you’re living in Cuba or Russia or China.
