To the edtior:
Everyone knows that “AI” stands for “Artificial Intelligence,” but everyone doesn’t know that the power that controls it victimizes because of another type of AI, automatic ignorance.
We should not look at all the good it can do and ignore its potential for evil nor ignore the morality of those who seek to gain control of it. Americans are familiar with the cyber criminals that seem to grow in number and never seem to be punished. We’ve all experienced phone calls and emails that deceive, but AI has added a new dimension to deception. We soberly need to consider the possibility of the power it yields teaming up with a governmental force.
President Tom DeWeese of the American Policy Center, in the feature article of the June issue of the New American, labels AI as having the potential of creating a Prison Planet. Deweese explains how AI Data Centers are the building block for a digital, total surveillance state “by powering biometric digital IDs, real-time ‘predicting policing’ algorithms used to identify potential crimes or threats before they may occur…”
Already at work in Red China, ESG (environmental, social & governmental) and DEI (diversity, equity & inclusion) scores that are high please the powers that be while low scores deny citizens the basic needs of life.
Self-government built on individual responsibility traded for digitalized technocracy is a one-way path to tyranny. Stopping this threat needs immediate education and action. I urge you to read and study the article Prison Planet and take action. Please email and call your state reps to prohibit and eliminate government subsidies and other incentives to finance the construction of AI Data Centers.
