CONCORD - An autopsy conducted on the Easton woman killed Friday determined that she died of blunt force trauma to the head.

The autopsy was conducted on Sunday by Associate Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Abigail Alexander, who also found that the manner of death of 76-year-old Cynthia Lanchester was homicide, meaning she was killed by another.

Investigators continue to look into the sequence of events involving Lanchester's grandson, Joshua Lanchester, 23, who was arrested Saturday and charged with one count of Second-Degree Murder for recklessly causing the death of Cynthia Lanchester with a deadly weapon, a hammer.

Joshua Lanchester continues to be held without bail, while an arraignment is anticipated to be scheduled today in the 2nd Circuit Court - District Division in Littleton.

Meanwhile, the exact circumstances surrounding Cynthia Lanchester's death remain under active investigation.
