ROCHESTER - Barbara E. Koon, 94, formerly of Olde Farm Lane and The Rochester Manor died Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital after a period of failing health. Born April 15, 1926 in Colebrook, to Sherburne and Maude (Quilliam) Ramsay.
Barbara was employed for several years at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin, as a certified operating room technician. Throughout her years there, she had the privilege of working with several fine doctors and made many life-ong friends. It was a profession she loved.
Following her retirement, she moved to Rochester where family resided. While living in Rochester she worked for a time at Care Pharmacy.
Barbara loved family and devoted her time to them. She was a most attentive and caring grandmother. She was a great story teller and often reminisced about her years growing up in Colebrook and told wonderful stories of her life on the Ramsay farm.
She enjoyed playing cards. Canasta and cribbage were among her favorites. She was a wonderful cook and found great contentment while in her kitchen cooking.
Barbara will be sadly missed by her family. "She will be forever in our hearts."
Members of her family include her daughter Brenda Burbank of Tampa, Fla.; daughter Heidi Mason and husband Harley of Rochester, her grandchildren Devon P. Burbank, (wife Paula (Lovell) Burbank), Barbara (Burbank) Aubert, (husband Daniel Aubert), and Marlys Mason; great grandchildren include Anna Burbank of Tampa, Ramsay and Kay Aubert of Rochester, sister Patsy Pilgrim of Littleton, and brother Gordan Ramsay of Oxford, N.C. She is predeceased by brothers; Sherburne and Ronald Ramsay, and sister, Betty Poliquin.
