MILTON - Barbara Ena Golden, 89, died unexpectedly Sunday, February 7, 2016, at Frisbie Memorial Hospital. Barbara celebrated her birthday the previous Sunday with her many cherished family members.
Born January 27, 1927, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of Sylvester Morris and Margery Abia (Porter) Roberts, both of her parents emigrated from England after World War 1. Barbara was raised in Gilmanton Iron Works and attended school there. She moved to Milton in 1953 and lived there until moving three years ago to Brookfield to live with her daughter, Patricia.
Barbara worked as a stitcher at Dover Shoe Factory until it closed. She also worked at General Electric until her retirement in 1989. She enjoyed travelling and vacationing with family especially to St. Lucia, Bermuda and England.
Members of her family include her daughter Patricia Jean Golden and husband Stephen Michalsky of Brookfield, N.H.; two granddaughters Gina and husband Corey Meroski, and Gemma and husband Michal Stanek, two great grand daughters; Coralena Jean and Cecelia Inez Meroski, three step-grand daughters Susan, Sarah, and Samantha, seven step- great grandchildren, and one brother William Harold Roberts of Stratham, N.H. She was also a favorite Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband in 1978, David E. Golden; her siblings, Margery A. Richards, Charles M. Roberts and, Robert L. Roberts.
