ROCHESTER - There will be a fund-raiser on Sunday at the Rochester American Legion to help a Lebanon, Maine, man and his family after his recent diagnosis of Stage 4 brain cancer.

Zach Smith, a husband and father of two young children, is battling Stage 4 Glioblastoma, one of the deadliest forms of brain cancer.

Jane Weymouth, who is one of the organizers of the fund-raiser, said the family learned of the diagnosis after one of Zach's recent surgeries. He is currently out on medical leave from Albany International where he is employed, Weymouth said.

The family has also set up a Go Fund Me page that the public can access here.

Weymouth said the recent revelations have taken a toll on the family, and hopes as many who can will attend the benefit, which runs from noon-4 p.m. at the American Legion at 94 Eastern Ave.

The fund-raiser will include a cash bar, snacks, auction, raffles, shirt sales and live music.

For more information contact Weymouth at 207.432.5548 or Julie Donlon at 603.833.5463.
