BERWICK, Maine - A Berwick fire that erupted in a garage on Rileys Run is being investigated by the state Fire Marshal's Office.

The blaze broke out around 1:20 p.m. on Sunday drawing firefighters to 17 Rileys Run where crews found a garage fully involved, with flames extending into the attached residence, according to a release sent out Monday from the Dept. of Safety.

Firefighters quickly doused the blaze, and the State Fire Marshal's Office responded to assist with the investigation, which determined that the fire originated in the garage.

Due to the extent of the damage, fire officials say the exact cause of the fire cannot be determined at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
