ROCHESTER - Bette Couture, 83, formerly of Dover, died Friday, November 23, 2018 at the Rochester Manor. She was born July 17, 1935 in Dover the daughter of Carl and Iva (Tuttle) Towle and has resided in this area all of her life. She was employed at Clarostat and Bayhead Plastic Products in Dover.
Bette loved Christmas and everything to do with the holiday. She was instrumental in bringing the Living Christmas Tree tradition to the city of Dover's Henry Law Park.
She enjoyed many years of gardening at their cottage on Dover Point and at their home on the south side of Dover. She was an accomplished baker of pies during the Thanksgiving holiday and many of her recipes have been passed on to her children.
Bette is survived by her children, Sally Cobb and her husband, Chuck of Dover, Linda Spinney and her husband, David of Ossipee, Martin Couture and his wife, Patti of Rochester; and six grandchildren Joshua Neff and his fiancé Noelle of Michigan and their children Aurora and Barick and his older daughter Dahlia of Las Vegas, Michael Wallace and his wife, Lydia of Great Britain, Christina Nasuti and her husband James of Rochester and their daughters Emma Grass and Vadalynn Nasuti, Courtney Noella Couture, Zacharia Cobb and his wife, Jessica of Lee and their son James, and Elijah Cobb. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Daigle of Dover, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Couture in 2007.
