Betty Jean Starkey ... was one of 13 children

ROCHESTER - Betty Jean Starkey, 77, died peacefully surrounded by family on Friday August 2, 2019 following a brief period of failing health.

Born September 23, 1941 in Northfield, Vt., she was the daughter of Harry and Ida (LaFrenere) Barton.

Betty was the youngest of 13 children. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved watching the Patriots win Super Bowls, flower and vegetable gardening, cooking, and browsing hardware stores for new gadgets.

After retiring as an Engineering Assistant from Watts Fluid Air in Kittery, Maine, she was active with the Dover Senior Center and enjoyed taking the trips they offered as well as playing (and winning!) bingo.

She will be greatly missed by many. Members of her family include her siblings Alfred Barton of Washington and Irene Kienia of Georgia; children Deanna Brewer, Keith Starkey and Shari Starkey; grandchildren Heather, Caitlin, Jessica, and Megan, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son Michael Starkey.
