LEBANON, Maine - On Saturday afternoon at 1:10 p.m. Lebanon residents without power were finally given an estimated time of restoration, but few cheered the news.

The text alert sent out by Central Maine Power assured residents that their power would be back on by Tuesday at 10 p.m.

"I bet they just said that to get us to shut up and stop bothering them with when it'll be on," said one frustrated Lebanon resident.

"It could be on sooner, and then they think will be so impressed," said another.

The comments came from Milton Moose Lodge 1296 members, many of whom live in Lebanon.

The truth of the matters was West Lebanon was especially hard hit by the storm with nearly 40 utility lines down on just four streets: Prospect Hill Road, Schoolhouse Road, Poplar Hill Road and Champion Street.

One Town of Lebanon plow driver told The Rochester Voice he'd never seen such devastation to trees and utility poles in decades.

Among Lebanon's approximately 3,700 households, 1,248 remain in the dark today. Acton, Maine, still has 1,543 customers without power, while Berwick has 557 households still without power.

Meanwhile, most Greater Rochester communities are down to just a handful with the exception of Farmington (137) and Rochester (33).
