ROCHESTER - A 23-year-old Rochester bicyclist was injured on Tuesday when he collided with a car at the corner of Portland and Signal streest.
The crash occurred around 3 p.m., according to a statement from Rochester Police.
The initial investigation revealed that a motorist had been traveling eastbound on Portland Street when a bicyclist exiting Signal Street and headed toward Olsen Way did not stop at the stop sign before crossing Portland Street.
The motorist took evasive action but was unable to avoid colliding with the bike.
The bicyclist, 22-year-old Garry Heaton of Rochester, was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital for what were described as nonlife threatening injuries. Heaton was issued a citation for a violation of NH RSA 265:143, Application of Motor Vehicle Laws to Bicycles.
