Biden has taken us to the brink: Does he have the backbone to walk us back

Greater Rochester families are waking up today to the highest gasoline prices in history thanks to President Biden's reckless, Quixotian pursuit of the Green New Deal.

But what makes Biden's fools' errand even more egregious is that he is now courting rogue countries like Iran to produce more oil for American motorists.

In 2021 we imported about 209,000 barrels of Russian oil a day. That's about $25 million a day.

That money is helping to fund Putin's expansionist aim in Ukraine and elsewhere.

Steve Moore, a writer and economist who advised President Trump during his 2016 presidential campaign, said today on Fox News that Biden's pursuit of the Green New Deal is directly responsible for the national security crisis that exists today.

That national security crisis extends to the home front where everyday Americans will be feeling the pinch in their wallets for the foreseeable future.

But just like Biden's anemic stance at our southern border, his reticence to turn back on America's mighty oil spigot is breathtaking to say the least.

His first day in office he killed the Keystone Pipeline, and recently he continued his attack on fossil fuel by putting all new drilling permits on hold.

With a stroke of the pen he could put the Keystone back on line, which would give Americans some immediate relief at the pump.

But remember it's not just at the pump where we will feel misery. It's everyday prices on everything. Diesel is going up faster than regular gasoline, meaning that everything you buy that arrives by truck is going up. And that means everything is going up. What if 10 percent inflation goes to 20? That's hard to even think about.

It's almost treasonous that Biden is allowed to do this, to destroy a country's economy (oil), destroy a country's border (illegal immigration) and destroy a country's national security (Afghanistan).

Now, by continuing to buy oil from Russia, he is, in effect, making us fund Putin's war in Ukraine, which is now fanned to the point he is implying a nuclear option is on the table.

Moore said President Trump warned five years ago we have to be oil independent, and 14 months ago we were.

In December of 2020 a month before he left office, the price of a gallon of regular gasoline was $2.12.

President Biden, it is time to reverse your reckless endangerment of this country. Bring back the Keystone. End your porous border policy. We don't want to buy oil from Iran, the largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world. Stop buying oil and gasoline from Russia. Turn course, for God's sake.
