ROCHESTER - SOS Recovery Community Organization will host legendary blues artist James Montgomery to headline the Third Annual Recovery Rocks Concert on Sept. 23 at the Rochester Opera House. Sponsors of the event to date include The Shark 102.1 & 105.3, Turbocam International, People's United Bank and Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank.

When Montgomery plays the harmonica, he "brings it on home". Whether it's recording with Kid Rock, sitting in with Gregg Allman, or fronting his own band of 30 years, Montgomery plays with authority. While growing up in Detroit he learned first-hand from the masters: James Cotton, John Lee Hooker, and Jr. Wells at the legendary "Chessmate."

Over the years, he's carried on in the tradition and continues to be a vital presence in blues as one of the most dynamic performers on the scene

Joining Montgomery on stage will be Barry Goudreau, former lead guitarist for Boston and the Sax Attack Horn Band. Tickets for the event, which will be held from 5:30-9 p.m. are $30 in advance and $35 at the door and may be purchased on line at sosrco.org.org.
