ROCHESTER - Bob Garnett of Milton and Barrington died Friday July 6, 2018 at the Rochester Manor following a battle with cancer.
He was born in Rochester, October 27, 1946 son of William and Anne (Blaauw) Garnett, graduated from Somersworth High School and attended UNH.
He started working with New England Telephone in 1970 and continued in the employ of its successor companies until taking an early retirement in 2000 to care for his mother who had Alzheimer's. He never married. He was a member of the I.B.E.W.
He was an active scuba diver, water and snow skier and hiker, having scaled each of New Hampshire's 4000-footers. He was a founding member of the Tri-Echo Water Ski Club, active in the Pease Greeters, and an involved participant in the Three Ponds Protective Association. Bob was well-known throughout the area and extremely well-liked: caring and thoughtful, he gave of his time and energy to others without stint.
He leaves behind countless friends, his brother Bill and wife Jane of Nottingham, niece Sarah and Alan Robinson of Strafford, their two sons Christopher and Lucas, and a number of cousins. In addition, he leaves "the two little girls" Kallie and Jersey Drew of Rochester.
He was predeceased by his parents and a nephew Nathan Garnett.
