'Railroad to the Moon' author Jean Flahive to speak

LEBANON - Jean Flahive, the author of Billy Boy who now has a sequel Railroad to the Moon, will be the guest speaker at the Lebanon Historical Society’s Oct. 7 meeting at the Martha Sawyer Community Library at the Hanson School on Upper Guinea Road.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m.

Flahive’s Billy Boy was about a soldier from Berwick who served in the Civil War and his friendship with a slave.

Jean along with Pastor Boyd will be doing a power-point presentation and talk on her new book, which relates to Lebanon as one person, Oren Cheney, was founder of the Lebanon Academy and Bates College.

The Historical Society’s meetings are always open to the public.
