Box truck operator cited for negligent driving in Concord crash

CONCORD - A commercial truck driver was cited for negligent driving early today after his vehicle veered off the roadway and jumped a guardrail on Interstate 93 in Concord.

The single-vehicle crash occurred around 4:45 a.m. on Interstate 93 south. After an initial investigation, State Police determined that the box truck was traveling in the right-hand lane in the area of exit 17E when the driver lost control and veered off the roadway to the left.

The driver, Jesus Cepeda-Pizarro, 35, of Lawrence, Mass., was evaluated at the scene by Penacook Rescue Squad for minor injuries and transported to a local hospital. He was cited for operating after suspension and negligent driving.

The crash resulted in one lane being closed for about two hours until the truck was removed from the roadway.
